Valencia-Real Madrid post-match comment

Another disappointing performance from Madrid. 3-0 scoreline said it all. Just don’t know what to say with Madrid, but have to give credit to Valencia. 1st goal scored by former Madrid youth player. A very decent move combining David Silva, David Villa and Juan Mata finished clinically by Mata. Just 3 minutes after the 1st goal, Madrid most reliable player this season, Iker Casillas failed to save long-range shot. Silva done well to find space and shot which saw Casillas managed to tuck the ball inside the goal. Poor Casillas. Madrid just couldn’t get into the game. Misplaced pass, poor communication, awful first touch, lack of creativity and horrible ball control happened throughout the game. Madrid punished with 3rd goal beautifully. Lob pass from Pablo Hernandez finished off by Ruben Baraja with a superb volley. It should be one of the best goals of the season. Despite the scoreline, the game was pretty balance in term of possession. Madrid was totally couldn’t create chances. Valencia should win with a bigger margin, thanks to series of save by Casillas and poor finishing from Valencia forwards. Now I thought I have something to say regarding Madrid players. 1st is Casillas. He performed well. Couple of great saves in the opening 20 minutes. But the 2nd goal is very costly. He made mistake not only for letting the goal but the result too as I believe that is the killer-goal. 2nd is Javi Garcia. I’m not expecting him to start because I preferred to see Dani Parejo. Garcia was the worst player on the pitch. He should take the opportunity of playing in the first eleven by playing well. Always misplaced pass, poor closing down, never really help defensive line. 3rd is Arjen Robben. He got the pace, but his selfishness is everything. Always react in unconvincing way when he don’t get the ball. Yes he is good footballer but he is not great. 4th is Sergio Ramos. One of his most awful performances I’ve ever seen be it with Los Blanco or Spain. His closing down was unacceptable. Very poor! It looked like he is right-midfielder rather than right defender. Out of his position for most of the game. 5th is Christopher Metzelder. He’s not playing at his standard. Looked anxious when in ball possession. Always missing the important interception. 6th is Raul. Too much ground he covered resulting in his out position. Not really supported Robben and Marcelo. 7th is Marcelo. Do well without ball. Too much dribbling and twist-turn cause losing balance and losing the ball too. Do well to unlock space but just couldn’t execute the pass. Lastly, 8th is Fernando Gago. Not really help the backline which he should have to. He should be much creative with better ball control technique. He is very slow for his position. So that’s it. Game over for Madrid this season. Have a lot of job to do next season. Always the Whites. Hala Madrid!
